The officers stayed with Alicia at the hospital until she called her parents and friends. They left telling her to call them if she needed any help. That was the least they could do. Now that Demond was dead there was no way to interrogate him about the hit and run case involving Owen or charge him with a crime. It was not yet proven that he had hit Owen and run away from the scene. The full autopsy report on Owen’s death was due shortly.
